I'm not sure I agree with keeping it that simple. I've tried running with just gloves, hats, and socks and I was still freezing. I think hand warmers and face masks can make a big difference. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to frostbite.

I've been trying to work on my form too, but it's hard to know if I'm doing it right. I don't have a coach or a running buddy, so I just try to pay attention to my posture and foot strike. I've been filming myself running and watching it back to see if I can spot any issues. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing. Progress is slow, but I feel like I'm getting a bit more comfortable with each run.
Yeah, getting lost is the worst. I've had my fair share of wrong turns too. I usually stick to GPS, but it's good to have a backup plan. I like your idea of studying the route beforehand, that's something I need to start doing more often.
