Is static stretching before a run still a thing?

I've been seeing some conflicting opinions on this. Worth doing or a waste of time?

Honestly, I've ditched static stretching before runs. Research suggests it doesn't improve performance and may even decrease power. I focus on dynamic stretches and save the static stuff for after my runs.

Dynamic stretches are where it's at. I've seen zero benefits from static stretching before a run. It's all about getting your muscles warm and ready to go, not holding a pose for 30 seconds.
