I used to be a static stretching fanatic, but I've switched to dynamic stretching and haven't looked back. I do some light jogging, leg swings, and hip circles to get my blood flowing. It just feels more natural to me. Plus, who has time to stand around stretching when you could be running? 🏃♀️
I'm all about mixing it up too. I get bored with the same old route, so I try to find new trails or explore different neighborhoods. And yeah, having a running buddy is a great motivator - it's way harder to hit snooze when someone's waiting for you at the door. Accountability is key!
Preach! I'm so over the constant stream of 'new and improved' products. Most of the time, it's just a rehash of something that already exists. And don't even get me started on the 'limited edition' nonsense. It's all about creating a sense of FOMO and getting us to open our wallets. I'm guilty of falling for it sometimes, but I'm trying to be more mindful of what I really need vs. what's just a want.
I'm a 6-hour sleeper and I'm still alive, but I do try to get an extra hour on heavy training days. It's all about listening to your body, right?
I feel you! I've tried a bunch of stuff too, and it's all about trial and error. For me, Clif Shot Bloks are the way to go. They're easy to eat on the go and don't bother my stomach. Also, make sure you're drinking enough water - dehydration can make everything worse! 🏃♀️
I'm a big fan of dynamic warm-ups before runs and cool-downs afterwards. It's helped me reduce the risk of shin splints and IT band issues. Also, I've started to prioritize sleep and nutrition - it's amazing how much of a difference a good night's rest and a balanced diet can make in preventing injuries!
