Running books: Any recommendations that won't put me to sleep?

I've been running for decades, but I still like to read about the sport. Problem is, most running books are either too technical or too fluffy. I'm looking for something that'll give me new insights or a fresh perspective without putting me to sleep. Has anyone read anything recently that's worth my time? No memoirs or 'inspirational' stories, please. I just want something that'll help me improve my running or understand the sport better.

Try 'The Lore of Running' by Tim Noakes. It's meaty, not fluff.

Try 'aniels' Running Formula' by Jack Daniels. It's a classic, but still provides actionable advice on training and racing. Not too technical, but informative enough to help you improve.

I've read Daniels' book and found it helpful. Another one that might interest you is '80/20 Running' by Matt Fitzgerald. It offers a fresh perspective on training and racing, and it's easy to understand. Both books have given me new insights and helped me improve my running.

Thanks for the rec! I've heard great things about Daniels' book. I'll have to add it to my reading list. Anyone else have any other suggestions?
