Running Industry: Profit Over People?

It seems like every other day there's a new running shoe or gadget being released. I'm starting to feel like I'm being nickel and dimed to death. Do companies really care about helping us become better runners or are they just looking to make a quick buck? Anyone else feel like they're being taken advantage of?

I'm not surprised by the constant stream of new products. It's all about the benjamins, baby! Companies know we're a dedicated bunch and will shell out cash for the latest and greatest. But let's be real, most of it is just marketing fluff. I've been running in the same shoes for years and I'm still getting the job done. Don't get me wrong, innovation is great, but let's not pretend it's all about our benefit.

Marketing fluff is right, most new stuff is just hype.

I'm so tired of all the hype around new gear. It's like, I just want to run, you know? I don't need the latest and greatest to get out the door. And yeah, it feels like they're just trying to sell us stuff we don't need. I stick to what works for me and ignore the rest.

Preach. I'm so over the constant stream of 'new and improved' crap. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Most of this stuff is just a marketing gimmick to separate us from our hard-earned cash. I'm with you, I stick to what works and ignore the noise.

Preach! I'm so over the constant stream of 'new and improved' products. Most of the time, it's just a rehash of something that already exists. And don't even get me started on the 'limited edition' nonsense. It's all about creating a sense of FOMO and getting us to open our wallets. I'm guilty of falling for it sometimes, but I'm trying to be more mindful of what I really need vs. what's just a want.

Exactly! It's refreshing to see someone else calling out these tactics. Mindfulness is key, let's focus on our running goals, not the latest marketing gimmicks.
