Tapering for a Marathon

How many days of easy runs do you guys typically do before a marathon? I've been doing 10, but wondering if I should cut it down to 7.

I've always done 7-8 days of easy runs before a marathon and it's worked out fine for me. Any more than that and I start to feel antsy and lose my rhythm. But hey, everyone's different. If 10 days works for you, stick with it. Just don't overthink it too much, you've done the hard work already.

7-10 days, who cares? You've done the work, just rest your legs and show up to the start line ready to hurt.

I've done both 7 and 10 days of taper before a marathon, and honestly, I didn't notice a huge difference. I think the key is to listen to your body and not overdo it. If you're feeling fresh and rested, you're good to go. Don't stress too much about the exact number of days, just focus on getting to the start line feeling ready.

I'm no expert, but I've heard 7-10 days of taper is a sweet spot for most runners. For my first marathon, I did 9 days of easy runs and it worked out well for me. The key is to listen to your body, if you're feeling rested and fresh, you're good to go!
