Trail Essentials

I'm getting more into trail running and I'm curious about what gear you all consider essential. I've got a good pair of trail shoes, but what about socks, pants, and tops? Are there any specific brands or features you swear by? Do you carry any safety items like a first aid kit or headlamp? Let me know what's in your trail running kit!

For me, it's all about simplicity and versatility. I stick to lightweight, quick-drying clothes that can handle various conditions. My go-to's are a pair of Patagonia Strider Pro shorts and a breathable top like the one from Nike. As for safety, I always carry a small emergency whistle and a lightweight space blanket in case of unexpected weather changes. Keep it simple, and you'll be good to go!

For socks, I prefer Injinji toe socks to prevent blisters. Pants-wise, I like Salomon's Trail Pants for their flexibility and water resistance. As for tops, a breathable, moisture-wicking tee like the ones from Smartwool does the trick. Safety-wise, I always carry a small first aid kit with blister care and a lightweight headlamp, just in case. Oh, and don't forget a hydration pack or handheld water bottle!
