Achilles Tendinitis Recovery Strategies

I've been dealing with Achilles tendinitis on and off for a few months now, and I'm curious to hear from others who have gone through a similar experience. What strategies worked for you in terms of recovery and prevention? Did you find any particular stretches or exercises to be helpful? Did you have to take a break from running or were you able to modify your training to accommodate the injury? Any advice would be appreciated!

I've had my fair share of Achilles issues too. For me, the key was to reduce my mileage and intensity, and focus on strengthening my calf and ankle. I did a lot of eccentric calf exercises, and also worked on my foot strike and stride to reduce the stress on my Achilles. It took time, but it worked. Also, don't underestimate the power of rest and patience!

Yeah, rest and patience are key. I've been trying to modify my training but it's hard to slow down. I'll have to look into those eccentric calf exercises, thanks for the tip.

Eccentric calf exercises were a lifesaver for me too. Also, ditching the heel striking and going midfoot/forefoot helped a lot. And yeah, rest and patience are a must, no shortcuts here.

I've had a similar experience with Achilles tendinitis. What worked for me was incorporating more stretching and foam rolling into my routine. I also made sure to wear proper shoes and orthotics to reduce the stress on my Achilles. I didn't have to take a complete break from running, but I did have to scale back my intensity and frequency. It's a slow process, but with consistent effort, I was able to get back to my normal running routine.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I've also found stretching and foam rolling to be super helpful in managing Achilles tendinitis. I've also had to focus on strengthening my calf muscles to reduce the strain on my Achilles. Modifying my training was key for me too - I had to switch to lower-impact workouts like cycling and swimming to give my Achilles a break. It's a frustrating process, but patience and consistency are key.

Foam rolling and proper shoes helped me too, but I had to take a break from running for a few weeks to let it heal.
