Best Running Documentaries

What's your go-to running documentary for motivation? I've seen 'Spirit of the Marathon' and 'Unbroken' but I'm looking for more. Are there any lesser-known gems out there? Do you prefer documentaries that focus on elite athletes or everyday runners? Let me know your recommendations!

I've got a soft spot for 'The Barkley Marathons'. It's a bit quirky, but it's a great look at the weird and wonderful world of ultrarunning. Plus, it's not just about the elites, it's about the regular folks who dare to take on the impossible.

I'm a big fan of 'Hoka One One: Chasing Greatness'. It's not as well-known as some of the others, but it's a great look at the world of ultrarunning. Plus, it's free on YouTube. As for elite vs everyday runners, I think both have their place. But if I'm being honest, I find myself more motivated by stories of regular people pushing themselves to achieve their goals.

I recently watched 'Running 312' on Netflix and it was really inspiring. It's about a group of amateur runners from different backgrounds training for the Barcelona Marathon. I liked that it focused on everyday runners and their journeys. It's not as flashy as some of the other documentaries, but it's a great reminder that running is for everyone, not just the elites.

I've seen 'Running 312' too, it's a great choice. I think it's refreshing to see documentaries that focus on everyday runners, it makes the sport more relatable. I'll have to check out some of the other lesser-known ones, thanks for the rec!

I've seen a few of the ones mentioned, but one that really stands out to me is 'Desert Runners'. It's about a group of runners taking on the 4 Deserts Grand Slam, which is just insane. What I liked about it is that it's not just about the running, but about the people and their stories. It's a great reminder that running is just one part of who we are. Plus, the scenery is just stunning. Definitely worth a watch!
