First Half Marathon: To Pace or Not to Pace?

I'm gearing up for my first half marathon and I'm torn between pacing myself or going all out. Has anyone else been in this situation? Did you pace yourself or push your limits? What were the pros and cons of each approach?

Pace yourself, trust me. You don't want to bonk at mile 10 and suffer through the rest of the race. Start slow, finish strong, and enjoy the experience. You can always try to PR next time.

Good point about not wanting to bonk at mile 10! I'm also considering pacing myself for my first half marathon. Did you find that pacing helped you conserve energy and finish strong? Or was it more of a mental thing, knowing you had a plan and could stick to it?
