I've been experimenting with different gels and chews during long runs, but I'm still not sure what works best for me. What do you guys use during races? Do you prefer solids or liquids? Any recommendations for a 10K would be appreciated.
For a 10K, I stick to what I know - water and a banana at the start. Keeps it simple. During training, I've tried a few gels but didn't like the stomach discomfort. Experimenting is key, so don't be discouraged. You'll find what works for you. Good luck with your next race!
Gels are a gimmick. Just eat a balanced breakfast and you're good to go. Don't overcomplicate things.
