XC Running for Road Runners

Thinking of trying cross country running this winter. Any tips for a road runner looking to transition to trails and hills? What are the biggest differences I should expect?

XC running is a whole different beast! As a road runner, you'll need to adjust to uneven terrain, hills, and potential mud/muck. Biggest differences: you'll need to lift your feet higher, engage your core more, and be prepared for slower paces. Start with shorter distances and gradually increase. Don't be afraid to walk if needed - it's not about pace, it's about having fun and not eating dirt 😊.
