10k training plans

I'm looking to shave off a few minutes from my 10k PR and I'm in the market for a new training plan. Anyone have a favorite plan or coach they'd recommend? I've done a few DIY plans in the past, but I'm thinking of going with a more structured approach this time around. Currently sitting at a 45-minute PR, looking to break 43. Thoughts?

I've had decent results with the Hal Higdon plans. Worth a look if you're looking for a structured approach.

Hal Higdon is a good choice, but I'd also recommend checking out the Nike Run Club plans. They're free and have worked well for me in the past. Good luck with your goal, breaking 43 is definitely doable with a solid plan and consistent training!

Hal Higdon plans are okay, I've used them in the past. They're pretty straightforward and easy to follow. But if you're looking to break 43, you might want to consider something a bit more aggressive. I've heard good things about the Nike Run Club plans, they're a bit more intense and might be what you need to shave off those extra minutes.

I've used the Pfitzinger 10k plan in the past with good results. It's demanding, but if you're looking to shave off a few minutes, you need to be willing to put in the work. Not sure about coaches, but a good plan is only as good as the effort you put into it.

Pfitzinger plans are solid, I've had friends use them with success.

I've had success with the Hansons' 10k training plan. It's structured, but not too rigid. I went from a 47-minute PR to 44:30 with their plan. It's not magic, but it works if you put in the work. I'm not sure about coaches, but I've heard good things about Running Wizard. Worth a look, at least.

I've had a good experience with the Nike Run Club 10k plan. It's well-structured and provides a good balance of speed, endurance, and rest. I went from a 48-minute PR to 45:15 with their plan. As for coaches, I've heard good things about Fleet Feet's coaching services. They offer personalized plans and support. Worth considering if you're willing to invest in your training. Good luck with your goal!
