Eco Friendly Running

As runners, we spend a lot of time outdoors. What are some simple changes we can make to reduce our environmental impact? I've started carrying a reusable water bottle and avoiding single-use gel packets. What are your eco-friendly habits?

Great topic! I've started bringing a small trash bag with me on long runs to pick up any litter I see along the way. It's not much, but every little bit counts. I've also been looking into eco-friendly running shoes and clothes. Anyone have any recommendations on sustainable brands?

That's a great idea about bringing a small trash bag on long runs! I've been trying to reduce my use of single-use plastics too. For eco-friendly running shoes, I've heard good things about Brooks and Patagonia. They're making an effort to use recycled materials and reduce waste in their manufacturing process. Worth checking out!

I've ditched the single-use gel packets too, and I've started using reusable energy chews instead. Small changes, but they add up. I'm also trying to reduce my carbon footprint by running closer to home and carpooling to trailheads.

Good call on the reusable energy chews. I've been doing the same, and it's amazing how much waste you can cut out. Running closer to home is a great idea too, not just for the environment but also for convenience. I've also started avoiding races with excessive plastic waste, it's time for organizers to step up their game.
