Marathon training question

I'm 16 weeks out from my first marathon and I'm getting anxious about my long runs. Anyone else struggle to hit their target pace on these? I feel like I'm just trying to survive rather than actually running at a decent pace. What's the secret?

Hey, I totally feel you! I've been there too. For me, it's all about breaking down those long runs into smaller chunks. Instead of focusing on the entire 10-12 miles, try breaking it down into 2-3 mile segments. It makes it more manageable and you can focus on hitting your pace for each segment. Also, don't be too hard on yourself if you don't hit your target pace every time. It's okay to have off days. You got this!

Yeah, breaking it down into smaller chunks helps, but let's be real, it's still gonna be hard. You're gonna have to suck it up and push through. It's not always fun, but that's what marathon training is all about.

Great advice on breaking down the long runs! I also find it helpful to focus on my breathing and form during those segments. It helps me stay present and not get too caught up in the overall pace. Plus, it's a great way to distract myself from any fatigue

Hey! I totally get it. Long runs can be daunting. For me, it's all about breaking it down into smaller chunks. Instead of focusing on the whole run, try to hit your pace for just 3-4 miles at a time. And don't be too hard on yourself if you don't hit it exactly - it's about consistency and progress, not perfection. You got this!

You're not alone, just pace yourself better
