Thinking of buying a treadmill - anyone have experience with lower-end models?

Hey fellow runners, I'm considering getting a treadmill for those days when I can't get out. Has anyone had experience with lower-end models (around $500-$800)? Are they worth it or should I save up for something better? Thanks for your input!

Treadmills are for wimps. Just suck it up and run outside. But if you're dead set on it, I've heard the ProForm ones are decent for the price.

Hey, I get where you're coming from! While I love running outside, there are days when a treadmill can be a lifesaver. ProForm's a good brand, but also consider NordicTrack or Weslo. Worth doing some research to find the best fit for your needs and budget.

Fair point about running outside, but ProForm's a good starting point for OP.

I've had a lower-end ProForm for years. It's been reliable, but don't expect fancy features. If you're a casual runner, it'll do the job.

I've got a cheap NordicTrack. It's fine for easy runs, but don't expect it to handle high mileage or intense workouts. If you're looking for a convenient way to get some miles in, it'll do. But if you're planning to use it as a replacement for outdoor runs, you might be disappointed.

Reliable is all I need, thanks for the honesty!

I've got a lower-end treadmill and it gets the job done. Not the most feature-rich, but it's better than nothing on a rainy day. Worth it if you're on a budget, but if you can swing it, save up for a better one.

Lower-end treadmills are fine for casual use, but don't expect much in terms of durability or features. If you're serious about running, save up for a better one.

Agreed, lower-end treadmills can be a good starting point. Just don't expect too much in terms of incline or decline features. But hey, it's a great way to get some miles in when the weather's bad. I'd say go for it if you're on a tight budget, but be prepared for some limitations.
