New to trail running and deciding between Salomon Speedcross and Hoka Challenger. Any experience with these models? Pros and cons?
I've been running trails in Salomon Speedcross for a while now and I can attest to their grip and agility. However, I've also had the chance to try out Hoka Challenger and I was impressed by their comfort and cushioning. For me, it's about the terrain - Speedcross for technical trails and Challenger for more laid-back routes. Try them out and see what works best for you.
I've run in Salomon Speedcross for years, and I gotta say, they're beasts on technical trails. The grip is unparalleled. But, they're not the most comfortable shoes out there. If you're looking for a more relaxed trail experience, Hoka might be the way to go. Depends on your running style and what you prioritize.
I've had Salomon Speedcross for a year now, grip is awesome, but they can feel a bit narrow. Worth trying on both before you buy.
I've tried both and for me, Hoka Challenger is the way to go. More comfortable and better for longer runs. Salomon Speedcross is great for shorter, more technical trails, but can feel a bit claustrophobic. Try them on, as mentioned, and see what works for your foot.
I've worn both Salomon and Hoka for trail running. Salomon Speedcross is great for technical trails, the grip is amazing. But for longer, more relaxed trails, I prefer Hoka Challenger, it's so comfortable and cushioned. Depends on your trail style!
Good summary! I've also run in both and agree that Speedcross excels on technical trails. Challenger is a great choice for easier trails, but I find it a bit too soft for my taste. Ultimately, it comes down to your personal running style and preferences.
